-- February 9, 2010 ---
I have moved a
bunch or stuff and expanded the Website Page Index, hopefully to make the main
page less cluttered.
We are working hard trying to get the new Brodix/Chevy
Engine fitted into the old car.
Brodix has some great Engine parts. The SBC
Block can be fitted with 4.180" Bore, 4.250" Stroke (467 cu. in)
We are
being conservative with 4.125" bore and 4.000" Stroke (427 cu. in.)
VIR is
March 4, 5, and 6! Not looking good! Summit Point is April, 24, 25 should make
that OK.

Hank Dudley Racing is now Wearhouse Distributor (W/D) for Brodix
products. When I got finished with the order for the new engine/s I was close
to qualifying for the W/D status, so I went ahead and bought some extra part to
qualify. Brodix is a very big supplier of heads and block for many types of
race engines. Their product line has something for everyone, street to full
race. Their catalog is at: http://www.brodix.com/ We welcome the
opportunity to quote any of these products. For quote please call Hank at

Road Racing Schools
Washington D.C.
Region is holding a three day Double - School March 19-21, 2010 at the Summit
Point, WV
Students may participate in one or both schools. The entry fee
is $450 for a single school/single certificate or $550 for the full
double-school. The first school will start with an orientation and flag test on
Thursday evening 03/18, and will continue on Friday, finishing mid-day on
Saturday. The second school will begin with an orientation and flag test on
Saturday morning 03/20 and continue through the end of the day on Sunday. Both
schools are open to those students who fulfill the GCR requirements and want to
acquire their SCCA license. The school is also open to licensed drivers looking
for further instruction. Licensed drivers must be approved by the chief driving
instructor. Priority will be given to new non-licensed partictipants. All
participants will have a personal instructor and be required to attend all
debrief sessions.
Please visit https://www.wdcr-scca.org/ for more
information and to register.
(Registration expected to open in early
February).
FAASST Race
Driving School https://www.faasst.com/
---
I highly recommend this for at least one of your school. You
could make it two. Three schools are going to be required.
(SCCA requires
that you take at least one SCCA school and it should be your last
school)
Judy and her instructors are first rate.
My Thoughts on Driving
Schools:
SCCA Club Schools
1. The classroom work
with the club is the best, flags and the process, very good.
2. Rent a car,
Mazda is best, trouble free. I rented from: RP Performance 304-728-6749
There are so many of them you will get lost in the crowd and not get criticized
as much.
3. Stay out of trouble, stay on line, don't try to win the the
school race. Blend in with the others.
4. If you have race experence, cars,
motorcycles, etc. don't tell anyone. Your racing life starts today.
5. Keep
your mouth shut as much as possible in the debrief sessions. Your racing life
starts today.
6. One more thing. Don't mention you know me or ever saw this
Website.
FAASST School
1. Take whatever race car you want to
drive, makes no difference.
2. The classroom work is just OK. Most people by
this time know about the flags and the race process.
3. The classroom
debrief is very good. The instructor I had was a Mazda Team professional
driver, first rate.
4. If you have experience racing your coach will help
you work it into the road racing.
5. Your instructor will encourage you to
go faster. A mistake is not criticized just pointed out and help
offered.
Hopefully, you will find this info useful. Please let me
know how you make out with your schools. I will add you comments.
