Ive attached some
pics of my Porsche 1995 911 (993). Its been modified to resemble a Euro
RS, but unfortunately, retains its stock 3.6 motor and stock gear box
instead of the 3.8 and better gear ratios of the euro RSs. Its got
a fair number of modifications just enough to make it a compromise for
both the street and the track. L I love it though. The rear engine is very
rewarding when you nail a lap just right. Ive only owned her for about a
year. Id been looking for about two months when this one came up for
sale. I found it within one hour of it being posted, called the seller (a PCA
and rennlist.com member), made the deal over the phone, contingent on a good
PPI. It passed the PPI w/ flying colors so I flew to North Carolina and drove
it back to San Diego. It was a great way to become familiar with the car. Some
of the mods done to the car are: RS body kit, Speedline RS cup wheels (the real
deal) and two sets of track wheels, Bilstein PSS9 adjustable suspension, RS
Sway bars, GT Strut brace, GT3 seats, DAS roll bar, Sparco 375 wheel, Euro
Front Bumper, Schroth Harnesses, RS clutch, LWF, Big Red Turbo brakes, Pagid
Orange pads front, Pagid Black pads back, SS brake lines, RS shift knob,
Factory LSD (rebuilt by Guard), Steel synchros, Fabspeed Supercup exhaust,
Halon Extinguisher, RS Short Shifter, WEVO semi-solid engine mounts, RS
splitters & wing. I just cant bring myself to do the rest of the
necessary changes to bring it closer to being a better track car the
condition is too nice. So, as I continually contemplate that issue, I
constantly, but half-heartedly, search around for an older 911 track car that
would be competitive in one of the PCA and POC classes. Ive got some time
anyway, as Im not quite ready for wheel to wheel. After one year of AX, I
won my class for the year and also received the Rookie of the Year
award last weekend. San Diego is the biggest PCA region in the U.S., so I was
pleased. And Ive been progressing into Time Trialing more recently. I
only have seven days under my belt so far, so I still need quite a bit more
seat time before I go the club racing route. Im still trying to get used
to the shock of the financial requirements of this hobby/addiction.
Best
